Accountant ( 100% REMOTE )

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company. This role will play a critical part in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting financial reporting, and helping drive data-driven decision-making across the business.

The ideal candidate has experience in a high-growth CPG, eCommerce, or omnichannel environment and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Own month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Support inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and margin analysis
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience (CPG, retail, or eCommerce preferred)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting is highly preferred
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

• CPA or CPA-track
• Experience with Amazon, DTC, or omnichannel retail accounting
• Familiarity with data tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
